For over 20 years, Carol has pioneered and managed innovative remediation solutions designed to recover NAPL products from soil and groundwater. Since 2000, Mrs. Winell has acted as the President and C.E.O. During this time she has developed C3™ Technology and has developed SVE and MPE systems specifically designed for use with in-situ thermal treatment and at sites with high concentrations of recalcitrant compounds and DNAPLs. Carol completed a Bachelors in Biological Sciences at the University of California, Irvine in 1979.


Brian Krumbholz

Director, Engineering R&D

Brian provides electrical engineering management for the design and manufacturing of vapor treatment and thermal remediation equipment. Brian also provides leadership in research and development for next generation products, and is the technical lead for design modifications requested by clients. Brian completed a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2004.

Michelle manages all aspects of operational / occupational health and safety for the company. Michelle also provides leadership in accounting, business administration and human resources management. Michelle is a Registered Nurse and completed a Bachelors of Science in Nursing at Mount St. Mary’s College in 2001.

Grant has managed the market growth and technology development of C3 Technology since 2009. He manages Marketing, Legal and Intellectual Property issues, as well as all high level contractor and customer relationships. Grant holds both MBA and JD (law) advanced degrees from Pepperdine University. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, San Diego and Leiden University (Netherlands).

Alex provides leadership in the research and development of new vapor treatment and thermal remediation technologies. Alex's research focuses on (1) breakthrough remediation technologies and (2) marked improvements to existing company technologies. He has over twenty years of experience in environmental remediation technologies, and graduated from the University of Michigan in 1979.


Dr. Xiaosong Chen

Dr. Xiaosong Chen

Director, Engineering & Design

Dr. Chen has conducted environmental remediation technologies development since 2002. He has work experience in the U.S. EPA, consultant companies and national environmental labs. He acts as a senior engineer for thermal remediation design and R&D. Dr. Chen obtained his Ph.D of civil engineering from University of Florida in 2005. He completed his undergraduate studies of chemical engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China). He has the PE license of civil engineering.
